Ministry Focus
Our Children’s Ministry focuses on leading children to become lifelong followers of Jesus.
This ministry is uniquely designed for children; newborn through 6th grade. In these classes biblical principles and godly values are taught by our trained volunteers and staff. Classes are divided into Nursery, Toddlers, PreK-K, Grades 1-2, Grades 3-4, and Grades 5-6.
Newport is a family friendly church. We love children! At Newport, our children’s ministry is called Kidstown. In Kidstown, we have classes for toddlers up through grade 6. If your child is not yet toddler-age, no worries! In our nursery, located to the right-rear of the main auditorium, your baby (up to age 24 months) will enjoy playing with toys, eating Cheerios (if old enough) and interacting with other children. Nursery is staffed with caring adults who love Jesus and enjoy sharing that love with babies. If your child wants to sleep or you need a bit of privacy for nursing, there are places for that as well. Both the nursing mothers room and the sleeping babies room are located in the nursery hallway.
For children ages 2 through grade 6, we have classes that are taught by caring individuals who are ready to share God’s love with your child. Our volunteers have received background criminal, and child abuse history checks. Most of our teachers are parents themselves. All of our teachers understand the importance of instilling biblical principles and godly values early in a child’s life. Kidstown children are dismissed to classes after worship in the main service.
