Update: due to COVID-19, we have made the following adjustments:
The originally planned fellowship meal has been canceled, but the blessing and commissioning for Pastor Allen will be part of our Sunday morning service on May 31st, following the sermon. The entire service will also be livestreamed.
You are also invited to participate in a Drive-By Parade, to bless and send off the Dise’s into their new season with love. We will be meeting at the Newport Church parking lot between 1:00 and 1:30pm on May 31st. We will have people directing traffic, and will release about 10 vehicles in a time to prevent traffic congestion. Cars will drive by the Dise home, and Allen and Julie will be outside their house to watch our parade. We will have a drop off spot for cards and/or gifts at the end of their driveway. Please anticipate a wait time and we encourage family members to travel in one car if possible. *The Blessing Parade is rain or shine.
If you’re not able to participate in the blessing parade, cards may be sent to Danielle Kreider: c/o Dise Commissioning. (Address: 237 Root Rd, Manheim, PA 17545)
Pastor Allen’s plans include a sabbatical followed by a new season in chaplaincy.
We realize that many will miss being able to give messages of blessing and appreciation so we created a private group where video messages can be posted. Here is the link: https://www.facebook.com/groups/261108951934182/
These greetings and messages will be shared with Allen & Julie after May 31st.
Thank you! If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to Danielle Kreider, Marie Good, Janet Sauder, Cheree Shenk, or the church office. Thanks again for helping us make this event special during this unusual time.
